 Niagara Catholic wins playoff title

Niagara Catholic lost twice, once in overtime, to St. Mary's of Lancaster in Monsignor Martin A League boys soccer. Monday, the Patriots (14-4) avenged those two defeats with a 3-0 victory over the Lancers in the league playoff championship game in Lancaster.

Zach Socha scored a goal five minutes into the game and Tom Hamilton and Keith Muldoon scored second-half goals for Niagara Catholic, which will face the IAC playoff champion at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday at Niagara University to settle the championship among Western New York small private schools. Devin DeFrank assisted on all three Patriots goals, while goalkeeper Colin Winkler made eight saves.
